매니토바 주정부가 러시아의 우크라이나 침략으로 인해 발생한 난민들을 받아들일 준비를 하면서 신규 이민자를 돕는 15개 기관에 5.1 밀리언 달러를 지원하기로 했다. 전체 지원금 중에서3 밀리언 달러는 Manitoba Start (271 Portage Ave, Winnipeg)에 지원된다. 신규 이민자와 고용주를 연결해주는 일을 하는 Manitoba Start는 난민을 지원하는 것은 물론이고, 이미 시행중인 서비스를 개선하는데 사용될 것이라고 했다.
