If you are wanting to go fishing this weekend, there is no need to pick up a license.
Our province has announced that on Saturday and Sunday there is no charge to go fishing. This does not apply to national parks, where a federal license is still required. Anglers fishing without a license this weekend will be allowed to keep a conservation license limit of fish, which varies by species.
“This weekend, we encourage Manitobans to get out and enjoy the great outdoors and participate in recreational fishing free of charge,” says Agriculture and Resource Development Minister Blaine Pedersen.
Summer family fishing weekends have been offered since 1992.
From Friday through Sunday, access to provincial parks will be free. Regular camping fees still apply if visitors plan to spend the night in one of Manitoba’s many campgrounds. (End)
