The First Annual Africanad Carnival

The first annual Africanad Carnival will be taking place right here in Winnipeg August 31, 2019 from 11am to 11pm in the heart of the city the Exchange District Cube stage.

African-Caribbean Festival is an open-air summer festival, where people are invited to discover, explore and celebrate the beauty and diversity of African-Caribbean cultures and communities by experiencing food, art and music, and cultural dances.

The event is open to everybody and celebrates the ethno-diversity of Canada.

Welcoming and beginning this Festival with a ‘Carnival’ Parade showcasing musical performances, cultural dances, and traditional clothing leading to the festival area located in the heart of downtown, in the Exchange.

Our local community is rich in artists of all kinds, designers, writers, poets, painters, musicians, etc. The festival will have free performances featuring local artists, featuring music from genres, such as Reggae, Afrobeat, Soca, Afro house, and Afro-pop.

There will be many local vendors where attendees can purchase and learn about local products. Anything from food, clothing, jewelry, health and beauty, to name a few.

It is our hope with this event that we may be able to increase public awareness of the richness and diversity of our communities and local vendors. As well contribute to the connection that we all have as people to live in harmony together and learn about each other at the same time.
