2024년 조사에서는 688명 (20 퍼센트)의 의사가 향후 3년 이내에 은퇴 또는 이사할 것을 고려하고 있는 것으로 파악되었다. 이 숫자는 매니토바 의대를 졸업하는 숫자보다 많은 의사 숫자이다.
보고서는 의대 정원 확대, 의사 서비스 자금 지원, 농촌 의사 모집 기금과 같은 정책적인 면에서 진전이 있었다고 했다. Doctors Manitoba는 주정부에 의사 숫자 증가를 위한 제안들을 했지만, 아직 답변을 들은 것이 없다고 했다. 매니토바 주정부는 의사를 모집하려는 노력 강화, 브랜든에서 의료 교육 확대 그리고 지자체에서 의사를 모집하는 노력을 적극적으로 지원하고 있다고 했다.

Health Care Retention and Recruitment Office 책임자는 매니토바로 이동하는데 관심이 있는 의사들에게 연락하고 있으며, 개인적으로 접촉하여 일대일 지원을 제공하고 있다고 했다. 즉, 단순하게 의력서를 받아 담당자와 연결시켜주는 것을 뛰어 넘는 개인별로 필요한 모든 서비스를 제공하고 있다는 것이다.
매니토바는 지난 10년간 매년 평균적으로 60명의 의사를 확보했었다.
