On February 3rd the Portage and District Chamber of Commerce will once again partner with the Portage Industrial Exhibition Association for the second annual “Made in Manitoba Expo.”
Chamber Executive Director Cindy McDonald says the event promotes and showcases products made right here in our province, noting it reminds folks that they can buy so many amazing things locally.
McDonald says you’ll be able to sample and taste a number of items, including beet-based products which were extremely popular at last year’s expo. She notes the Alpaca Lady will be on hand with her alpacas and they’ll also have exhibitors with homemade soaps and log furniture, to name just a few.
McDonald adds this is a great event which demonstrates to people how food is produced and how it gets to your table. She says it’s an eye-opener to realize how many diverse products are grown here in Manitoba, noting our province is so agriculturally rich that it always amazes her to see what can be produced.
McDonald says the Chamber hopes to grow the Expo every year and make it bigger and better. There is no charge to attend this event, which will be held at the MNP Exhibition Building on the Island from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 3rd. (Source: Portage Online News)
