Loblaw Companies Ltd., which owns Real Canadian Superstore and Shoppers Drugmart, among other stores in Canada, and their parent company George Weston Ltd. blew the whistle on the 14-year practice of companies agreeing to raise prices on bread at specific times.
As an act of what CEO George Weston is calling “good faith,” the company is offering $25 gift cards for free.
To qualify for the card you must have purchased certain brands of bread from qualifying Loblaw stores between January 1, 2002, and March 1, 2015. To claim your card head to loblawcard.ca and fill out the appropriate forms. (Source: CHVN Radio 95.1 FM)
